Safety

A safe working environment is the most important goal for every company, and NFP is no exception. We place the safety and well-being of our employees as our utmost responsibility.

At NFP, we employ dedicated safety professionals in every office across our company. Working closely with our Risk Management professionals, our safety team is second to none and ensures maximum productivity in the safest means possible.

NFP conducts specialized ongoing Safety Training for our employees. Topics included in the training are:

  • OSHA 10 hour course
  • OSHA 30 Hour course
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Confined Spaces
  • Lock Out – Tag Out
  • Fall Protection
  • Forklift
  • Rigging
  • other specific training (as the job requires)

We also audit our jobs on a regular basis to verify compliance with not only required standards, such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), but also our own more stringent safety program.

Our efforts have benefited us in many ways. Some of our achievements include:

  • Maintained an experience mod rate at least 15 points below industry average since 2001.

In 2005 National Fire Protection received the Craftsmanship award for it’s work on the National Gallery of Art Work Area #2

National Fire Protection received the 2003 Certificate of Recognition for outstanding dedication and contribution to the Post Sept 11, 2001, Pentagon Phoenix Project.
NFP was Clark/Balfour Beatty Construction’s Subcontractor of the Month in August 2009 for the New Campus East project.
In 2005 National Fire Protection received the Certificate of Appreciation by Centex/Balfour Beatty for performance,  professionalism, enthusiasm, positive attitude, Integrity and teamwork.
Under your leadership this project has exceeded all anticipated performance measures and contributed immeasurably to maintaining the overall timeline for Research Development, Testing, and Evaluation.
