Mid-Atlantic: About Us

The Mid-Atlantic Division of National Fire Protection, LLC, was established in 1987 and has grown into one of the largest and most well-known fire protection systems contracting companies in the country. NFP’s Mid-Atlantic Division has played a key role in building marquee projects throughout Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia. The Mid-Atlantic Division is based out of our Rockville, MD headquarters and has satellite offices located in Frederick, MD and Baltimore, MD, in addition to various project offices throughout the region.

A sample of the success of NFP’s Mid-Atlantic Division includes:

  • The Phoenix Project to repair the Pentagon following the terrorist attacks of 9/11 – completed and reoccupied in 1 year.
  • Being the fire protection contractor for five of the largest buildings in the Mid-Atlantic region: the Pentagon – 5.5 MSF, the Ronald Reagan Building – 3.3 MSF, Gaylord National Harbor – 2.5 MSF, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center – 2.3 MSF, and NGA Main Office Building – 2.2 MSF.
  • Serving as the fire protection contractor to replace and install the fire protection systems in one of the largest US Air Force hospitals on the East Coast while it remained operational.
  • Providing the complete fire protection systems for the largest historical US House of Representatives Office Building while being fully occupied by members of Congress and their staffs.
  • Being the first contractor to successfully test a C-5 hangar high expansion foam fire protection system for the Air National Guard on the first test.

NFP was the recipient of a 2004 WBC Craftsmanship Award in Recognition of its Outstanding Work on the ATF National Laboratory – Fire Research Center project.
