United States Coast Guard Headquarters
Washington, DC
Located in Anacostia on the historic St. Elizabeth’s campus, this 1.2 million square foot office building will be the new headquarters of the United States Coast Guard.
National Fire Protection is working hand-in-hand with Metropolitan Fire Sprinkler on the new home for almost 4,000 Coast Guard employees. The facility will be protected by a combination of wet pipe and dry pipe systems, and will be comprised of approximately 15,000 sprinklers. Four 1,500 gpm fire pumps, located in St. Elizabeth’s existing pump house, will supply the building’s fire protection systems. A Central Utility Plant and two Parking Garages are also part of the project.
Construction began in 2010 and is scheduled to be completed in 2013.
