National Harbor, MD

Located just outside the nation’s capital, Gaylord National is the largest combined hotel and convention center on the East Coast. The two million square foot facility sits on 41.7 acres and has 2000 total hotel rooms and suites; bars, restaurants, and a lounge; retail space; a spa and fitness center; and 470,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. The centerpiece of the complex is the eighteen story glass and steel atrium that soars above the Potomac River.

Gaylord National was a construction contract (plans & specs) project. The fire protection scope of work included the installation of combined fire protection standpipes and wet pipe sprinkler systems, dry pipe sprinkler systems, a preaction sprinkler system, a deluge sprinkler system, and electric fire pumps for both low and high pressure systems. The project was completed in 2008.
