Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), a Combat Support Agency, engineers and provides command and control capabilities and enterprise infrastructure to continuously operate and assure a global net-centric enterprise in direct support to joint warfighters, national level leaders, and other mission and coalition partners across the full spectrum of operations.

This project consisted of the headquarters for the agency, which was relocated to this new facility at Fort Meade as part of the Base Realignment and Closure Act (BRAC). This state of the art facility is a 1,070,000 square feet LEED Silver project consisting of seven primary buildings, the tallest being five stories, all with the exception of one being connected by a central two-level concourse corridor. Three of the buildings are office buildings housing the command and support spaces. A two-story specialized IT laboratory building provides hands-on workspace. A large warehouse facility is connected to the Central Utility Plant and the maintenance offices. The two-story Commons Building includes the cafeteria, a fitness center, and other employee well-being spaces as well as training and lecture classrooms and auditoriums.

The fire protection systems installed by National Fire Protection are fed from a fire pump house which is supplied by a 350,000 gallon water storage tank that feeds two 2000 gpm fire pumps. Wet pipe sprinkler systems feeding approximately 8500 sprinkler heads are provided throughout, with an early suppression fast response (ESFR) system providing the protection of the warehouse area. Standpipe systems and hose valve cabinets are provided throughout the buildings.
