NGA New Campus East

Fort Belvoir, VA

New Campus East is the new, centralized headquarters for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). Located at the Engineering Proving Grounds of Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, the campus is comprised of several buildings that all serve the Main Office Building, including the Central Utility Plant, Technology Center, and 1.5 million square foot Parking Garage.

The Main Office Building is a 2.2 million square foot high-end office building, designed to house upwards of 10,000 employees. The building is highlighted by a spectacular 150-foot glass curtain wall atrium.

Over 20,000 sprinklers make up the fire protection systems throughout the building, which includes wet pipe systems, dry pipe systems, double-interlocked electric / pneumatic preaction systems, and a large in-rack system. This mission-critical facility has a redundant fire pump system with two 2,500 gpm fire pumps.

Construction began in 2008 and is scheduled to be completed in 2011.
